Big Boo Hoo - Bye Bye $0.50 Kashi Cookies and Pita Crisps at Publix -

Recyclebank - Kashi - Odwalla
Good News and Bad News

???

The Bad First.
I've been patiently waiting for Publix to put the Kashi Pita Crisps, Kashi Cookies and Kashi Crackers on sale again.  The new yellow Publix Advantage Flyer shows them for $2.50 each on sale.  So I clicked over to Recyclebank and look for the $2 off any one Kashi item coupon.   Well, there it wasn't.  Yes, I said wasn't.  This happend a couple of months ago, and the Kashi coupon turned back up a short time later.  So I'm hoping it will reappear when we turn the calendar page to May.

The Good Second.
There are still lots of very good exclusive coupons available at Recyclebank.  There is an Odwalla coupon for $1 off any 1 item, and it's on special for just 40 points today.  How long does it take to get the 40 points?  About a minute.  In fact, when you are visiting the world map to earn points, look for Japan and you'll earn 35 points just for uploading a photo relating to recycling.

    Extreme Savings: $3 - 1395 Calories - 3 Meals and 4 Snacks / Desserts

Prior to about 10 months ago, I would have been delighted if the ingredients for just one lunch cost just $3, let alone paying $3 for 3 meals and 4 snacks / desserts.  What has changed is they way I shop. These days, I:
    • Plan shopping trips carefully, watching and waiting for the best deals
    • Combine sales, BOGOs, store coupons, manufacturer coupons, competitor coupons, gift card deals, clearance, and any other great savings scenarios t
    • Stockpile, stockpile, stockpile in pantry and freezer
    • Purchase produce at farmers markets or Aldi's, which saves a whole bunch over Publix and Super Target
Not every meal or every day will look like our menu from yesterday.  Some days everything is made from scratch, some days we dip in to the freezer for a little help.  We try to make sure we are eating  veggies, fruits, grains, and proteins that make sense.

PUBLIX: $14.82 for 20 Meals + Vitamins + Lots of Chocolate Treats

    PUBLIX
Extreme Savings For A Small Shopping Trip

We didn't need much of anything from the supermarket this week.  The only thing I really wanted to grab while on sale was the new product by Silk - Fruit & Protein beverage.  I enjoy trying new "healthy" products, especially when I have awesome coupons.

    Publix:
    • 1 Odwalla Organic Carrot Juice, half gallon (sale $5)
    • 8 Vita-licious Egg White/Low Fat Cheese/Whole Grain Breakfast Sandwiches, 2 ct. (clearance $1 ea)
    • 2 Silk  Protein & Fruit Smoothie Beverages, 1 qt, (sale $2 ea)
    • 2 Sundown Vitamin D ($3.29 ea)
    • 2 Hershey Mini Chocolates, 15+ oz ea (clearance, Easter candy $3 ea)
    • 1 Russell Stover Chocolate Covered Marshmallow Eggs (clearance, Easter candy $0.25 ea)
    • 4 Russell Stover Chocolate Covered Coconut Eggs (clearance, Easter candy $0.25 ea)
    Coupons:

    • 2 $1.50 off 1 Silk Product, any size (printed)

    TOTAL VALUE:  $71.97*
    TOTAL COUPONS:  $16
    TOTAL COST:  $14.82
    TOTAL SAVED:  $57.15*, or 80%

    20 Meals:
    • 16 Breakfast Sandwiches + 4 oz organic carrot juice
    • 4 Protein & Fruit Smoothie Beverages (Each container has 32 oz, but I'm counting 16 oz as one meal replacement for a lunch or a light dinner @ about 300 calories and about 10 grams of protein - I'm doing this part from memory.)
    ______
*NOTE:  Total Value and Total Saved per receipt are quite wrong, because they don't take in to account the clearance items.  They rung up so that they don't show as sale items with a "you saved" amount listed.  So I recalculated using the regular prices for the clearance items to more accurately reflect the Total Value and Total Saved.  Vita-licious sandwiches reg. $4.49 ea.  Hershey's reg. $5.99 ea.  Easter eggs reg. $1 ea.

FINALLY BOGO: Heaven On A Stick - Frozen Diana's Banana Babies - Find Your Store

Diana's Banana Babies are one of my favorite frozen treats of all time.  They are just the right size, perfectly ripened to a smooth sweetness, and covered in a nice thick coat of either dark chocolate or milk chocolate.    What could be better!

I stock up when Publix Florida has them on a Buy One Get One Free sale.  They never have coupons; at least that's what Diana's Bananas told me via email.  They run about $2.50 for each box on the BOGO sale (5 per box, I believe).

P.S.  It looks like they now make them in a chocolate and peanut covered variety.

Here's the current SALE deals for Diana's Banana Babies, per their website:

    • Publix:  4/26 - 5/2/12 BOGO
    • Winn-Dixie:  4/25 - 5/2/12 BOGO

    • Dominick's:  3/29 - 5/3/12 Sale

    PUBLIX AD
    (ending 4/18/12 in Florida)
Publix did not accept Winn-Dixie $5 off $30 coupons toward the two $50 gas cards because I had the two Publix $10 off coupons from current ad. There were lots of posts and comments here and there about how Publix accepted both coupons stacked, but my Publix said it would be too many "store" coupons per their policy.  I knew that and was fine with it, but thougt I'd ask anyway.

DINING OUT: What? $3 For $25 Boston Market eGift Card.

    93% Savings
    Boston Market $3 Gift Card

I had to read this deal to make sure I wasn't missing some hidden flaw to this deal.  There really isn't one.  You just have to pay attention to the dates in case you want to cancel any membership when the trial period(s) end.

    Worth A Look
    Pay Attention To The Details

    In a nutshell:

    • PAY Saveology $3 using a credit card & RECEIVE a $25 Boston Market eGift Card that you print or show on your mobile device (can start to use on 4/14/12 and there it NEVER expires, nor does it charge monthly dormancy fees if you don't use it for a while).
    • RECEIVE $15 Saveology Dollars for FREE and you'll be enrolled for 48 hours in Saveology's Elite Loyalty Program trial membership.  If you don't cancel within 48 hours it will be turned into an automatic membership and you will be PAY $10 and will RECEIVE another $15 Saveology Dollars for each month you remain a member.
    • You'll receive a free subscription to MyTechHelp Gold Plus Plan ($9.99 value).   This is an organization that provides technical support for computers, smartphones, etc.*
So my math tells me that
    • for $3 I will get $50 worth of goods / services.
    • for $13 I will get $65 worth of goods / services.
And, the Saveology Dollars will be used in the future to pay for deals that also offer huge savings.

See the deal HERE so you can check on the details.  The deal will be around for 2 more days or less if they sell out.  I've seen deals like this end early due to popularity and lots of purchases.**

    _______
*It doesn't say how long the free subscription is to MyTechHelp, but I'm thinking it is a month because of the $9.99 value, which is the same as their monthly charge.

**I've purchased several Saveology deals and am very satisfied with everything.

FREE: If Not For You, How 'Bout For Grandma or Grandpa? Could Be A Lifesaver.

    Totally Free & Important

This is an important health care tool for emergency situations and for medical appointments.  It is a way to gather the most important information about medications, conditions, contact numbers, etc. in one place that can be accessed immediately by simply walking over to your refrigerator.  I just ad-libbed something like this for aging family members, and it would have been great to have ad the LifePac instead.

Look for the grey "Order Now" button on left side, HERE

You can order more than 1 of these LifePacs if you have family or friends that take medication.  They take orders by phone or online, HERE.  No commitment or money of any kind required.

Here's what CST's website says about the LifePac.  These folks are in the business of providing emergency medical response systems, etc., but they are offering this free of charge.  I ordered several today for family members of all ages, from a child to baby boomers to seniors and elderly.

immediately the rescue worker knows to go to the refrigerator and find phone numbers, medications you are taking, any allergies, your latest blood pressure and/or any other special instructions to help you during an emergency.
What does this mean for you?

    Peace of Mind–

knowing this vital information will be available if ever an emergency should occur. Our LifePac™ program saves lives–it could save yours or a loved one! "
