Subject: Coupons, Inc. Case 00242920 - Installation Issue
Date: July 5, 2011 7:00:52 PM EDT

We are sorry you had trouble installing our coupon printing software. An installation issue occurs when you have successfully completed the installation process, but our site is not able to communicate with the Coupon Printer installed in your browser. This may be caused by third-party software that is disabling the plugin in your browser or blocking its requests to our servers. When this happens our site cannot detect your installation and you are prompted to download the installer every time you try to print coupons. To diagnose and fix this problem, check these possibilities...

For Windows PCs:

1) Has your Coupon Printer browser plugin been disabled?
Check to see that your Coupons, Inc browser add-ons are enabled.

If you are using Internet Explorer, open the browser, click "Tools" and select "Manage Add-ons" (in version 7 select "Enable or Disable Add-ons"). Under "Toolbars and Extensions", select "Show: All Add-ons" (in version 7 select "Add-ons that have been used by Internet Explorer"). The extension named "cpbrkpie Control" listed under the publisher "Coupons, Inc." should be enabled. ActiveX functionality must also be enabled within the browser, which it normally is by default.

- To test your printing ability (without hitting print limits on offers you want), visit:

2) Are you running any internet security (antivirus or firewall) programs?

If so it could be detecting a false-positive. The vast majority of internet security programs recognize the Coupon Printer as safe, trusted software. Occasionally one of these software publishers will release an update that mistakes the Coupon Printer as a potential threat.

Check to see if any of your security programs are mistakenly blocking the Coupon Printer or our servers by temporarily closing them before attempting to print again. You can access your internet security programs in the system tray located just to the left of the system clock. Expand the row of icons by clicking the arrow on the far left, then close out the security program by right-clicking its icon and selecting the exit, quit, close, or shut down option. If none of these options are shown, then try pause, suspend, or disable.

If you were able to determine this was the cause of your coupon-printing problem, please let us know the software title, edition, and version you are using so that we can contact the publisher to fix the error.

3) Are you running a 64-bit web browser?

Check to see if your version of Windows is 64-bit by clicking the Start menu, right-clicking "Computer" and selecting "Properties". Under "System type" it will be specified as 32-bit or 64-bit. If you are on a 32-bit operating system, skip this step.

If you are on a 64-bit operating system, you will have two versions of Internet Explorer installed. Click the Start menu and type "Internet Explorer" into the search box. The 32-bit version is labeled as "Internet Explorer" and the 64-bit version is labeled as "Internet Explorer (64-bit)". You will have to access our site using the 32-bit version.

4) Is this a browser-specific issue?

If after checking the above possibilities your web browser still will not detect the Coupon Printer and print the test coupon, then try using a different web browser. The Coupon Printer is compatible with Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, and Chrome on Windows; however, an environment-specific condition may exist in your system causing one of these browsers to stop working on your machine. Trying from different web browser may help you determine if this is the case.

For Mac OS X:

1) Have your browser plugins been disabled?

Check to see that your Coupons, Inc browser plug-in is enabled.

In Safari, click the Safari menu and select "Preferences". Under the "Security" icon, make sure "Enable plug-ins" is checked.

In Firefox, click "Tools" and select "Add-ons". Under the "Plugins" category, make sure "Coupons, Inc. Plugin" is enabled. If it has been disabled, you will be prompted to install continuously until it is.

- To test your printing ability (without hitting print limits on offers you want), visit:

2) If your browser plugins were already enabled, then try doing a fresh install of the Coupon Printer.

First you will need to remove the Coupon Printer files on your system by opening the Applications folder in your Macintosh HD. Locate the "Coupons" folder and run the Uninstall Coupon Printing Software item within. Once the uninstaller has completed, re-download the installer from the link provided below and run the installation again. It is important to uninstall existing Coupon Printer software loaded on your Mac first before applying a new copy.

- To re-download the Coupon Printer installer, visit: and click on "Help Me Install"

3) Is this a browser-specific issue?

If after checking the above possibilities your web browser still will not detect the Coupon Printer and print the test coupon, then try using a different web browser. The Coupon Printer is compatible with Safari and Firefox on Mac; however, an environment-specific condition may exist in your system causing one of these browsers to stop working on your machine. Trying from different web browser may help you determine if this is the case.

Please address the possibilities described above and let us know if you were able to identify and solve the issue.

Thank you,

I tried uninstalling the Coupon Printer and reinstalling both Safari and Firefox. Still no luck.

The tech support person from Coupons, Inc. ( and bricks) told me by phone that having more than one copy of files will likely cause printing problems. So, make certain that you have removed everything related to and Bricks Coupon Printer. They should be uninstalled or removed, trashed and then empty the trash. Once that is done, then do the new installation.

An easy way to find all the "components" is to do a search of your drive for "coupon", then sort by file type. Look for .exe -and- .dmg -and- plugins, including: MacCouponPrinter.dmg -- Coupon Printing, -- Uninstall Coupon Printing (this one may be in a folder called "coupons" -- CouponPrinter.exe -- CouponPrinter-FireFox.plugin (version specific, i.e. CouponPrinter-FireFox_v2.plugin) -- CouponPrinter-Safari.webplugin.

Good luck. Keep us posted.

I've tried everything suggested, including deleting all components and reinstalling. This is the printer error code I get on both my Xerox printers:
Error: /usr/libexec/cups/filter/CouponConvertor_v2 failed
I can't print from Safari 5.1 or Firefox 3.6.20. My MacOs is 10.6.8, but I also can't print from 10.7 (on a different hard drive).
I can print coupons from Smartsource and Redplum. Previously, when I had Tiger, I could print coupons.

I know from personal experience how very frustrating this can be.

It sounds as though you are using a new or upgraded OS. You might want to double check and see if any security settings have changed at all that could be creating an environment where your Mac isn't "visible" or responding to the or bricks.

IMHO, is doing something very wrong. I do not claim to be a computer expert by any stretch of the imagination, however it seems like the programmers and/or system engineers "should" have figured out a way to simply get their printer to work simply and seamlessly by now. So very many people have coupon printing problems primarily associated with and bricks. If Smartsource, Redplum, Target, and others can provide coupon printing with no problems (or very few), then so should, Inc.

I have written to them with that comment.

Why pay the tech staff if they can't do what the competitors can do - which is get the coupons to just print on Macs without headaches.

I know and realize this is an OLD forum and hope someone sees this. The printing coupons is becoming so tedious that even here on Apple Mac O/S (Mavericks) now - the same problems are still occurring. Attempting to print a coupon "Stopped - 'Filter' failed" Using Firefox 29.0.1 for MAC Why does printing coupons have to be SO difficult?

A mobile coupon software is simply a voucher or discount on certain service or product sent via text message to a customer's cell phone or hand set. All you have to do is just go on best shopping site select service or product you want and click on buy now button and make payment via credit card then they instantly send you a text message which you have to show to the owner of shop to avail discount as mentioned in voucher on particular service.

I'm getting error message 13 and this message:
Oops, Looks Like We Need You To Change Your Printer Settings
Click "Start" on the lower left of your screen, then "Printers and Faxes". Right click on a regular paper printer, not a fax or pdf printer.
Choose "Set as Default Printer". Then choose "Properties", click the "Advanced" tab, and make sure "Keep Printed Documents" is not checked.
Click "Print Now" below to try printing your coupons again.

I uninstalled and reinstalled I did your test coupon and it printed fine. Can't print Irish spring or nicorette coupon. I do see 5.0.7 version of when i click help and installed plug-ins when i'm in safari.

any suggestions?

I want to thank you for your suggestions. Though from now on when my coupons refuse to print I will skip them. Since more than half the time in my area the stores will not accept them. If they will not scan on any store's register the cashier refuses them as if I am counterfiting them! Not at all worth the hassel, or embarasment. You know how it feels to know you did nothing wrong yet it is taking a lot longer to get through the line and a line of people are standing there tapping their fingers looking at you like WTF??? Besides the money comes from the husband anyway. SO why not just spend it? I feel like why waste a lot of time trying to make coupons I can not even use? So much crap!
